RALEIGH, NC--Greensboro's baseball team started a three-game series at William Peace on Friday night, coming out with a 11-4 loss. GC got off to a fast start, sparked by a RBI-single up the middle by
Braxton King to get the Pride up 1-0 in the top of the first. Greensboro would add another run as Alex Morales stole home on a double steal. Â
The Pride (6-14) would not hold the lead long, as William Peace responded with four runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st, starting with a 2-run homerun by Hunter Ward to tie the game.Â
The Pacers would keep the pressure on, taking an 8-2 lead into the 5th, before
Drake Carrick's RBI-single to center brought in
Braxton Rupp, cutting into the Pacer lead at 8-4.Â
Greensboro was able to muster 10 hits in the game, led by
Adam Weber who went 2-3 with a walk and
Drake Carrick who went 2-4 and drove in a run. However, Greensboro left 11 runners on base, and committed four errors, which the Pacers pounced on in the victory.Â
Hunter Ward led the Pacers offense, going 4-5 with 3-RBI, including the 1st inning homerun.
The Pride will take the diamond again tomorrow against the Pacers of William Peace at 1pm.
