SALEM, Va---Greensboro's baseball team held a one-run lead going into the bottom of the ninth as they traveled to Roanoke on Tuesday. Roanoke would plate a pair to walk off with the 5-4 win as Jacob Bronzon reached on a Pride fielding error that brought in two runs in a win for the Maroons.
Adam Blevins had a solid outing from the mound, going 5.0 innings, allowing just two runs, and getting four strikeouts. From the plate,
Drake Carrick and Alex Morales led the way for the Pride. Carrick went 1-4 with a RBI double in the 7th that cut the Maroon lead to 3-2. Morales hit a RBI single to right field to tie the game at 3-3 in the 8th, and Sam Hayen's sacrifice fly in the top half of the 9th gave the Pride a 4-3 lead.
The loss drops Greensboro to 5-10 on the year, and they try to bounce back as they host Methodist for a three game series this weekend, starting Saturday at 1:00pm.
