DANVILLE,VA--Greensboro improved to 4-3 on the season, defeating Averett 17-2 on Saturday afternoon (March 19th). After surrendering the first goal of the game, the Pride rattled off 10 straight to take a commanding 10-1 lead into halftime.
Greensboro kept its foot on the gas, putting six straight more to the back of the net, gaining a 16-1 advantage with 5:10 remaining after
Austin Abourjilie's sixth goal of the day.
Greensboro goal scorers included six from Abourjilie, four from
Michael Meley, two from Will Beyer, two from
Joe Goodwin, and one each from
Ethan Pierce, Dom Scali, and
Gage Kelly.
The Pride dominated all facets of the game, outshooting the Cougars 51-15, forcing 33 turnovers, and winning 16 of 22 faceoffs.
Greensboro looks to keep its winning ways as they host Methodist next Friday at 4pm
