Men's Soccer Draws Tie at Home

Greensboro, N.C. – The Greensboro College Men's Soccer team hosted the Monarchs of Methodist University on Pride Field Saturday afternoon for their last match of the regular season. The match saw even play that resulted in a 0-0 draw.

Prior to the match, Head Coach Manbi Nyepon honored his four seniors, Parker Spesock, Liam Mowers, Alexander Sargeant and Isaac Haddock.

The Pride had all of the momentum in the first half putting up four attempts to the back of the net, testing the Monarchs goalkeeper and back line. They would unfortunately not be able to find the back of the net going into the half tied at 0-0.

The Monarchs would take back some of the momentum coming into the second half but the Pride wouldn't back down. Pride's goalkeeper, Lee Carrico would deny all opportunities the Monarchs would take, finishing with three saves on the afternoon. Pride's Craig Thomas would lead the way with six attempts. Each team finished with four corner kicks.

The Pride wrap up their regular season finishing 4-8-6 overall and 2-3-2 in conference play. They will next travel back up the mountain to face the Tornados of Brevard College in the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament on Tuesday, November 1st. Time for the match is TBA.
