Greensboro, N.C. – The Greensboro College Men's Soccer team traveled up the mountain to take on the Tornados of Brevard College on Wednesday evening. The scoreboard would favor the Tornadoes 1-0 at the end of the match.
Both teams would finish the night cap even in shot attempts at 15 apiece. The Pride's goalkeeper,
Lee Carrico would finish with four saves on five Brevard shots-on-goal. Corner kicks would lean towards the Tornados tallying seven in comparison to the Pride's four corner kicks.
The Tornados struck the back of the net first in the 38
th minute with a goal earned off of a corner kick. The Pride would push back throughout the remainder of the half but couldn't strike the net. Heading into halftime the Tornados would lead 1-0.
Greensboro's goalkeeper, Carrico, would stay strong in goal the remainder of the match not allowing the Tornados to find the net again. The Pride unfortunately, couldn't bring the game to an even score despite the seven opportunities. The final for the evening would remain 1-0.
The Pride will wrap up their regular season on Pride Field this Saturday, October 29
th against the Monarchs of Methodist University. Head Coach
Manbi Nyepon will also honor his seniors prior to the match. Game time is slated for 3:30PM.
