Greensboro, N.C. - The Greensboro Women's Soccer team hosted the Knights of Southern Virginia University on Wednesday afternoon for a USA South Conference match-up.

Prior to the match, the Pride wore pink warm-up shirts to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness month. Baked goods were also sold with all proceeds going to Relay for Life.

The first half saw heavy offense from the Knights, giving the Pride back line and Sophia Pagnamenta plenty of action around the net. The Pride came close to hitting the back of the net twice from a shot by
Haley Russell and from a corner kick by
Svea Eckstrand. Despite the close calls, the clock stayed an even 0-0 at the end of the half.

The Knights struck early in the second half as Maybel Harris snuck a goal into the top left corner pushing a 1-0 lead. The Pride would test the Knights goalkeeper late in the second half, but would come up just short. Pride goalkeeper, Sophia Pagnamenta would finish with 11 saves on the night.

The Pride venture to Raleigh, N.C. this upcoming Saturday, October 22
nd for a conference match against the Avenging Angels of Meredith College. Match time is slated for 2:00PM.
