The Greensboro College men's basketball team was back in action on Friday evening as they hosted Brevard College in a non-conference match-up. The Pride trailed for a majority of the game and fell to the Tornados, 61-75.
It was all Tornados(3-7, 1-0), in the first half, shooting just over sixty percent from the floor. They would gain their largest lead at the 11:54 mark, extending the deficit for the Pride(6-6, 1-1) by seventeen points.
Matthew Brown then gave the Pride some life hitting both free throws from the charity stripe, cutting the lead to ten. Tornados, Alex Wesig hit a big three-pointer to respond, taking it into the half with a score 24-37, Tornados.
In the second half, the Tornados continued their solid shooting performance as the Pride's late run would not prove to be enough.
Leading the way for the Pride was
Greyson Collins with 13 points.
LB Boyette lead the Tornados and all scorers with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Also scoring in double-digits was David Sealy securing 13 points and Carson Evans with 11 points, respectively.
The Pride were scheduled to play Maryville College this upcoming Sunday, but that game has been postponed. GC will travel to Staunton, VA next Wednesday to face the Fighting Squirrels of Mary Baldwin in a conference match-up. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 P.M.
