Men's Soccer doubled up on the road

The Greensboro College men's soccer team faced the Randolph Wildcats in a non-conference matchup. The Pride fell to the Wildcats, 4-2.

Randolph (3-0) scored the first tally of the game in the 10th minute. The Wildcats added another goal in the 28th minute.

The hosts scored two more goals (31st and 40th minutes) to take a commanding 4-0 lead.

William Curry got Greensboro (0-4) on the board just a minute later than the last Randolph goal. The Pride trailed by three (4-1) as the teams headed into their respective locker rooms.

The second half was quiet until the 71st minute when Jordy Briceno scored his fourth goal of the season. Greensboro cut the deficit to two but ultimately fell by that difference.

Elmer Martinez played in net all 90 minutes as he made three saves. Both teams tallied seven shots on goal while Randolph led the edge in corners, 8-5.

The Pride travels to Virginia Beach, Virginia to take part in the Virginia Wesleyan Tournament. GC will face Eastern Mennonite University on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 2 p.m.
