Schnabl and Rice lead Pride to Victory

The Greensboro College women's soccer team were led by senior Logan Schnabl and junior Hannah Rice as the team defeated Ferrum College, 2-0.

Greensboro (2-1) got off to a hot start as Schnabl found the back of the net in the 10th minute. The Pride kept the pressure on the Panthers (0-4) from there. 

GC's defense allowed only one shot on goal as Rice made the save. The Pride out shot Ferrum 5-2 and had three corners compared to two for the hosts. Greensboro held the one-goal lead going into the locker room.

In the second half, the Panthers came out strong with four shots (three on goal) as Rice stood tall and made each save. The gameplay evened out until the 88th minute when Schnabl picked up her second goal of the game, this one assisted by Natalie Habich.

The Pride held and won by the two-goal difference. After the final horn, both teams were evenly matched with six shot on goal for Greensboro while Ferrum had five. The corners were in favor of GC, 7-5.

Rice picked up the win, starting in net. Lindsay Fox took over in the second half.

Greensboro travels to Emory University to face the Eagles on Saturday, September, 11. First kick is set for 12 p.m.
