Fox Shuts Down Pfeiffer in Overtime

Freshman goalkeeper Lindsay Fox made eight saves as Greensboro shutout Preiffer University in overtime, 1-0.

Both teams had plenty of opportunities in the first half but both netminders stood tall as Greensboro (3-4-1, 1-0-0) outshot Pfeiffer (0-6-0, 0-1-0) three to one. The Falcons held advantage in corner kicks, three to two.

The second half saw an increased amount in shots as the Pride put four on goal while the hosts shot five times. Greensboro took control in corner kicks with six in the second 45 minutes compared to only one for Pfeiffer.

After 90 minutes of regulation time, the first USA South conference contest for both squads went to overtime.

The Pride kept the pressure on as they took the first two shots. In the 95th minute, the third shot was the answer as Natalie Habich found the back of the net to end the game.

Greensboro was outshot eight to seven but held its own in corner kicks with a difference of five (9-4). Pfeiffer's Britney Levy made six saves in over 94 minutes of action.

The Pride travel to Salem College on Tuesday, September 28 for a matchup with the Spirits. First kick is set for 4:00 p.m.
