Despite holding Roanoke College scoreless in the first half, Greensboro College fell to the Maroons 2-0 in the season opener.

In the first half, Greensboro (0-1) and Roanoke (1-0) battled to a scoreless draw going into halftime.

In the second half, it remained even until the 55th minute when Roanoke found the back of the net. The Maroons scored the final goal of the match in the 87th minute to claim the 2-0 victory.

Hannah Rice started in net for Greensboro, making one save in the loss. 

The Pride will open the home portion of the schedule on Saturday, September 4 against Johnson & Wales University. Start time is 4 p.m.
