Women's Basketball Doubles Up Guilford

The Greensboro College women's basketball team made the short trek across town to face Guilford College. 20-plus point performances from Lauren Livingston and Karli Mason led to the Pride doubling up the Quakers, 89-44.

Briana Milton scored the first basket of the game before Guilford (1-2) tied the game on two free throws. Greensboro (4-0) went on a 9-2 run with three three-point shots as Mason made two of them.

The Quakers made a layup to pull within five (11-6) but the Pride finished the first quarter on a 17-3 run to lead 28-9.

The second was similar to the first as Greensboro outscored Guilford 27-13 as the Pride were 11-18 (.611) from the field and led by 33 (55-22).

Coming out of the locker room, the Pride continued its dominance in the third as they won the quarter 15-6 and led 70-28. The fourth was the closet period (19-16) but Greensboro won by the 45-point margin.

Livingston led all scorers with 22 points in addition to six assists and four rebounds. Mason was right behind with 21 points along with six assists, six rebounds and three steals. 10 different members of the Pride scored on the afternoon.

As a team, Greensboro scored 34 points in the paint, 25 off turnovers and 26 from the bench. It also grabbed 42 rebounds compared to 29 for Guilford.

The Pride will host its first home game of the season on Tuesday, November 23 against Regent University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
