The Greensboro College women's soccer team traveled Buena Vista, Virginia to face the Southern Virginia Knights. The Pride fell on the road, 2-0.
Southern Virginia (7-3-2, 3-1-0) scored the opening goal in the 20th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Later in the first half, the Knights added another goal just before the halftime horn sounded.
In the second half, SVU kept the pressure on Greensboro (3-7-2, 1-2-1) but were unable to add to its lead as
Lindsay Fox saved all four shots she faced. The score remained 2-0 as the game concluded.
The Knights had nine shots on goal compared to two for the Pride. The hosts also held advantage in corner kicks, 4-2. Fox made a total of seven saves in the contest.
Greensboro faces Averett University on Saturday, October 9 in Danville, Virginia. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
