The Greensboro College women's soccer team faced the University of Mary Washington Eagles on Sunday afternoon. An early goal proved the difference as the Pride fell 1-0.
38 seconds into the contest, Mary Washington (2-5-1) found the back of the net after a cross into the box. From there, the Eagles controlled the pace of play throughout the first half.
The second half was a carbon copy of the first as Mary Washington took over ball possession and won by the one-goal margin.
The Eagles out shot the Pride 10-3 and held took nine corner kicks compared to three for GC.
Lindsay Fox made nine saves in the 90 minutes of action.
Greensboro (3-6-2) travels to Buena Vista, Virginia to face Southern Virginia. Kickoff is slated for 4:00 p.m.
