The Greensboro College women's volleyball team faced Meredith College and Pfeiffer University in a USA South tri-match at Hanes Gymnasium. The Pride fell to the Avenging Angels in the first match (3-2) before defeating the Falcons in the final match of the day (3-2).
In the first match, Greensboro lost by scores of 25-20, 28-26, 11-25, 21-25 and 10-15.
Hailey Stout led the team with 13 kills while
Katrina O'Neill had a double-double with 10 kills and digs.
Mckenzie Norris had 41 assists and 14 digs with
Lauren Kunke paced the defense with 19 digs. As a team, the Pride hit for .217 in the match with 53 kills.
The second match was a reversal of the first as Pfeiffer grabbed a 2-0 lead before Greensboro won the final three sets.Â
Abey Hancock finished with a match-high 14 kills as
Carly Uhlir and O'Neill both had double-digit kills (12 and 11, respectively). Uhlir (13), Kunke (11) and
Addie Haywood (11) paced the defense. Norris totaled another 40-plus assists (48)Â on the day.
Greensboro (10-7, 2-3) hosts Averett University on Wednesday, October 6. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
