The Greensboro College women's volleyball team honored its 2021 seniors as it hosted North Carolina Wesleyan College and Salem College for a tri-match. The Pride split on the afternoon, falling to the Bishops, 3-1, before sweeping the Spirits in straight-sets.
In the opening match, Greensboro fell to N.C. Wesleyan by scores of 25-13, 22-25, 23-25 and 24-26.
Hailey Stout had a triple-double with 19 kills, 20 digs and 11 assists.
Carly Uhlir added a double-double in the match with 12 kills and 22 digs.
Lauren Mantel paced the defense with 25 digs as
Sarah Oakes had seven blocks.
Mckenzie Norris totaled 22 assists.
Before the match with Salem, the team honored its five seniors in
Barrett Davis,
Natalie Rosinski, Oakes, Stout and Uhlir. The Pride then swept the Spirits with scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-18.
Uhlir and Rosinski led the team with seven kills while
Rosanna Espinosa-Ponce had six kills. Uhlir also led the defense with 14 digs with Norris assisting on 24 points.Â
GC out hit Salem .236 to -.027 with 35 kills compared to 22. The Pride also had seven blocks to just one for the Spirits.
Greensboro (13-11, 5-7) welcomes Mary Baldwin University on Tuesday, October 19. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
