The Greensboro College men's soccer team traveled to Pfeiffer University to face the Falcons. The Pride fell 2-1 on the road.
In the first half, Pfeiffer (5-7-0, 2-3-0) scored the opening goal in the 35th minute. Over two minutes later, the Falcons added another goal to hold a 2-0 lead throughout the first half.
The second half had the score remain that way until the 64th minute when
Merced Mendez Flores cut the deficit in half, 2-1.
Greensboro (7-7-1, 3-1-1) tried to even the score with as it put three shots on goal but each one was stopped by the Pfeiffer netminder. The Pride fell by the one-goal deficit.
GC had seven shots on goal compared to three for the Falcons and held advantage in corner kicks (5-2).
Greensboro faces Mary Baldwin on the road on Wednesday, October 20. Start time is 3:00 p.m.
