Fourth Period Lead Slips Away As Pride Women Fall To William Peace

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's basketball team fell to the Pacers of William Peace University Sunday 66-63.
 
Greensboro opened the first period on an 8-3 run, following four points from Sabria Joseph, before the Pacers were able to battle back over the next seven minutes to tie the game at 17 heading into the second period.
 
Over the first two minutes of the period, William Peace was able to establish a one-point lead on two occasions, but Greensboro responded with a 10-2 run over the next 4:43 to take a 30-23 lead. During the run, Diajah Hickson recorded four points, while Katie Lewis and Nichelle Jeffries both hit one three-pointer.
 
Following the run, Greensboro was able to hold on to their advantage and take a 34-28 lead into halftime.
 
The Pride then led by as many as nine in the third period before going on to take their largest lead of the game at 54-43 early in the final period. However, William Peace closed out the game on a 23-9 run to take the three-point victory.
 
Jeffries finished with a team-leading 14 points, while Free and Joseph both had 11 points.
