MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Ashley Free and
Sabria Joseph both tallied 25 points as the Greensboro College women's basketball team defeated the Falcons of Pfeiffer University Saturday 82-69.
Greensboro quickly took a 7-2 lead just 1:36 into the first period before the Falcons were able to pull back to within two with 7:27 showing on the clock. However, Greensboro was able to get the offense going and outscored Pfeiffer 17-3 over the remainder of the period to establish a 14-point advantage.
Despite being outscored 21-20 in the second period, Greensboro was able to continue to hold their double digit lead until the 5:06 mark in the third period when the Falcons pull to within eight points. However, much like the first period, the Greensboro offense began to catch its stride and quickly regained a 12-point advantage.
Over the final 10 minutes of play, the Pride was able to extend their lead out to as many as 20 points before going on to win by the 13-point margin.
Nichelle Jeffries also finished in double figures with 10 points, while
Shaiajah Dailey dished out five assists.
