ROANOKE, Va. – The Greensboro College volleyball team opened play at the 2019 Roanoke Maroon Classic Friday.
The Pride fell to the Scots of Maryville to open the day by a 3-0 score before dropping the nightcap against Randolph College in five sets.
In their match against the Scots, Greensboro struggled to get things going and fell by scores of 25-8, 25-10, and 25-16.
Sarah Egbers posted a team-leading four kills in the loss while
Natalie Rosinski,
Sarah Oakes, and
Carly Uhlir each had three kills.
Addie Haywood had seven digs.
Dixie Fulk and
Olivia Norris each passed for eight assists.
Following their loss to the Scots, Greensboro took the opening two sets against the Wildcats of Randolph College by identical 26-24 scores before dropping the next three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-17, and 15-9.
Egbers once again led the Pride offensive attack with 20 kills while Haywood finished with 21 digs.
The Pride will close out the two-day event Saturday when they take on Bridgewater College and Roanoke College.
