DEMOREST, Ga. -- The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team fell to the Lions of Piedmont College Wednesday 8-5.
Piedmont took a one-goal lead in the sixth minute of the first period before Phillip Gerber scored just 30 seconds later to tie the game at one goal each.
Following Gerber's goal, the Lions were able to score one goal to take a 2-1 lead into the second period before extending their margin to 3-1 with a goal just one minute in.
However, Greensboro quickly pulled back to within one goal when
Dominic Scali tallied his 11th goal of the season.
Over the final 10 minutes of the half, Piedmont outscored the Pride 2-1 to take a 5-3 lead into the break.
Michael Kiley was recorded with Greensboro's goal.
Each team then scored one goal in the third period before Piedmont outscored Greensboro 2-1 over the final 15 minutes to take the three-goal victory.
Ethan Pierce and Gerber accounted for the Pride's two goals in the half.
