GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College baseball team dropped its season finale to the Hornets of the University of Lynchburg Tuesday 12-6.
The Hornets took a 1-0 lead in the top half of the first inning before Greensboro responded back with a four-run bottom half to take a 4-1 lead.
Greensboro got their first run on a single by
Daniel Efird before
Ryan Campbell plated
Lincoln Hewett with a single through the left side.
Following the Campbell single,
Noah Walker hit a double to left center field to add on to the Pride lead.
The Pride then added two more runs in the second on Hewett double and a
Dalton Tassinari single.
After Greensboro extended their lead to 6-1, the Hornets scored 11 runs over the next seven innings to take a 12-6 lead.
Over the final three innings, Greensboro got runners on base but could not push a run across, falling by the six-run margin.
Daniel Efird finished with a team-high four hits while
Ryan Campbell had two hits.
