GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College baseball team dropped a pair of USA South Athletic Conference games against the Monarchs of Methodist University Saturday.
Greensboro fell in the opener 20-6 before dropping the nightcap 8-3.
In the first game,
Tyler Price,
Derek Jaar, and
Tim Osborne each had two hits while Jaar and Bryant each had a team-high two RBIs.
Eli Moravick was credited with the loss.
Methodist then took a 2-0 lead into the third inning of Game 2 before
Lincoln Hewett tied the game with a single to center field.
Following the Hewett single, Methodist scored the game's next three runs before Greensboro scored their final run of the contest in the seventh on a bases loaded walk by Osborne.
Blake Carroll tallied three of Greensboro's 11 hits while Price,
Hunter Curtis, and Hewett each had two hits.
The Pride will return to action Thursday when the open the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament against the Panthers of LaGrange College. That game will be played at 12 p.m. in West Point, Ga. at Point University.
