DANVILLE, Va. – The Greensboro College softball team defeated the Cougars of Averett University Saturday in a resumption of their halted game from Friday.
When the game resumed in the third inning, Greensboro was trailing by a 2-0 score before tying the game up on a
Hanna Stackhouse single up the middle.
The Pride then kept the game tied over the next inning before scoring the game's final three runs in the fifth.
With two runners on base,
Caroline Stanley hit a two RBI triple to center field before coming in to score on an
Alexis Newman ground out.
In the bottom half of the inning,
Cheyanne Cox was able to shut the door before the game was called early due to unplayable field conditions to secure her 10
th win of the season.
