FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Greensboro College softball team recorded a doubleheader sweep of Methodist University Saturday.
Greensboro rallied back to a 4-3 win in eight innings to start the day before winning Game 2 by a 1-0 score.
In the first inning, Methodist took a 2-0 lead into the seventh inning before Greensboro battled back to send the game into extra innings.

Allyson Loy to tie the game with a pinch hit single.
In the eighth, Greensboro took their first lead of the game on a
Caroline Stanley bunt before
Jordan Deaton tallied a sacrifice fly to extend the Pride lead to 4-2.
After Greensboro took the lead, Methodist was able to score one time in the bottom half of the inning before the Pride shut the door to record the one-run victory.
Loy finished with a game-high three hits, while
Maddy Wetherholt was credited with the win.
Greensboro was then able to ride their momentum into the second game as they went into the sixth inning tied at zero before
Cassie Collins hit a RBI double to left center field to give Greensboro the 1-0 victory.
The Pride was originally scheduled to return to action Sunday at Christopher Newport University, but those games have been canceled due to the threat of inclement weather.
