WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Greensboro College softball team dropped a pair of USA South Athletic Conference games to the Spirits of Salem College Wednesday.
The Pride fell in the opener 4-0 before suffering a 2-1 setback in Game 2.
After falling to score in the first game,
Jasmine Worthy singled to lead off Game 2 before stealing second base to get into scoring position.
Following the stolen base,
Caroline Stanley hit a ball back to the pitcher and reached safely on an error to allow Worthy to come across the plate and give the Pride a one-run lead.
However, Salem tied the game in the bottom half of the fourth inning before scoring the game winning run in the seventh inning.
The Pride will return to action Sunday when they host the Panthers of LaGrange College for senior day at Latham Park. For more information on Greensboro College softball, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
