CARY, N.C. – The Greensboro College baseball team dropped the final game of a three-game conference series with the Pacers of William Peace University Tuesday 12-2.
Greensboro got on the board first in the top half of the first inning when
Scotty McGuire hit a RBI double before the Pride extended their lead in the fourth inning when
Blake Carroll came in to score on a single by
Tyler Price.
However, the Pacers tallied eight runs in the bottom half to take an 8-2 lead before scoring the game's final four runs in the fifth inning.
McGuire finished with a team-high three hits, while Price had two hits.
Hunter Curtis and
Chance Bryant each recorded one hit.
Preston Snyder was credited with the loss after allowing three runs over 3 1/3 innings pitched.
Tyler Watson,
Cole Cooper,
Will White, and
Joseph Hoelle combined to pitch the final 4 2/3.
The Pride will return to action at 5 p.m. Thursday when they take on the Quakers of Guilford College at First National Bank Field, home of the Greensboro Grasshoppers.
