GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College softball team recorded a doubleheader split with the Falcons of Pfeiffer University Saturday.
The Pride won the opening game 2-0 before falling in the final game 9-0.
Greensboro scored the game's first run in the fourth inning when Hannah Stackhouse hit a double down the left field line.
The Pride then held on to their one-run advantage into the sixth inning before
Jordan Deaton plated
Jasmine Worthy with a sacrifice fly to right field.
With the Pride leading 2-0, Pfeiffer threatened in the seventh but
Maddy Wetherholt was able to shut the door for a five-hit shutout victory.
Stackhouse finished the game with the Pride's three hits.
Greensboro was not able to get anything going offensively and fell by the nine-run margin.
