ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Greensboro College baseball team dropped the third game of a three-game USA South Athletic Conference series with the Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College Sunday 7-2.
Greensboro got on the board first in the third inning when
Lincoln Hewett plated
Tyler Price with a single to right field.
The Bishops then scored three runs in the bottom half before going on to take a 7-1 lead into the eighth inning.
In the eighth,
Scotty McGuire led off the inning with a double to center field before advancing to third on a wild pitch.
Just two pitches later,
Thomas Helms grounded out the Bishops shortstop to score McGuire for the game's final run despite getting two runners on base in the ninth.
Price and McGuire each had two hits while
Jacob Rodriguez went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Greensboro.
Eli Moravick was credited with the loss.
