GREENSBORO, N.C. – Hanna Stackhouse tallied six RBI in Game 1 as the Greensboro College softball team split a doubleheader with Randolph College Tuesday.
Greensboro won Game 1 in five innings by a 12-4 score before falling in Game 2 3-0.
The Pride got on the board early in the first inning when
Jordan Deaton hit a RBI double to center field.
Three batters later, Greensboro extended their lead to 4-0 when Stackhouse hit a double to left-center field, scoring Allyson Lot,
Courtney Fink, and Deaton.
Greensboro then scored two more runs in the second on a Deaton single before she tallied yet another RBI hit in the fourth inning.
Following Deaton's RBI single,
Cheyanne Cox pushed the Greensboro lead to 8-0 before Stackhouse hit a bases loaded triple to right-center to make score 11-0 before coming in to score the Pride's final run on a wild pitch.
With the Pride holding on to the 12-run advantage, Randolph scored four runs in the fifth but would not get any closer.
Deaton went 3-for-3 at the plate while Stackhouse went 2-for-3. Cox was credited with the win in the pitching circle.
After winning Game 1, Greensboro and Randolph went scoreless into the seventh inning of Game 2 before the Wildcats scored three runs to take the victory.
