MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The Greensboro College football team fell to the Scots of Maryville College Saturday 28-7.
Maryville took a 14-0 lead into halftime before extending their lead to 21-0 on their first possession of the second half.
Following the Scots touchdown, Greensboro was able to cap off a 41-yard drive with two minutes remaining in the third quarter to get on the board. After facing a second down on the Maryville 41-yard line, David Loughry was able to find
Rohan Goldston across the middle of the field for a 35-yard gain to set up a first down and goal on the seven yard line.
Just two plays later, Loughry found
Jakym Clark in the end zone to make the score 21-6 before
Zac Ellison connected on the point after attempt to make the score 21-7.
However, Maryville would score the game's final points on their next possession to secure the 21-point victory.
Tristen Rose finished with a team-high 11 tackles while
Jarel Brown had three tackles and two interceptions.
