GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College football team fell to the Tornados of Brevard College Saturday 42-3.
Prior to the start of the game, the Pride recognized the football and cheerleading seniors.
Brevard drove the ball down the field on their opening possession of the game to take a 7-0 lead before Greensboro got on the board early in the second quarter. After starting the scoring drive on the Brevard 33-yard line, Greensboro moved down the field and but could not punch the ball into the end zone and settled for a 27-yard field goal attempt.
Following a perfect snap,
Zac Ellison drove the ball through the uprights to pull Greensboro to within four points.
However, Greensboro could not pull any closer as the Tornados scored the game's final 35 point to secure the victory.
David Loughry II and
Wyatt Beasey combined for 103 yards passing while
Earl Green III had a team-leading 52 yards rushing.
Jeremiah Speed finished with a team-high seven tackles and Kaseem Bagley,
Ryan Wahl, and
Jason Gerber each had six tackles.
