ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's soccer team fell to the Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College Saturday 2-0.
The score remained scoreless through the first 81 minutes of the game before the Bishops struck for the first time to take a 1-0. The score then remained the same for the next eight minutes before the Bishops were awarded a penalty kick and tucked it into the right corner of the goal to make the score 2-0.
The Pride tried to apply pressure over the remainder of the game but could not find the back of the net, falling by the two-goal margin.
"It was an overall disappointing outcome," Head Coach
Tony Falvino said. "I thought we defended well for large portions of the game. Unfortunately, some poor decision making allowed our opponent to capitalize.
"We need to make sure we learn and grown from today."
Parker Spesock,
Alexander Bishop, and
Darli Mihindou each had one shot on goal. Remey Brezault made eight saves in goal but was credited with the loss.
The Pride men will return to action Saturday when they host the Tornados of Brevard College. For more information on Greensboro College men's soccer, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
