MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's soccer team fell to the Falcons of Pfeiffer University Wednesday 1-0.
Pfeiffer took a one-goal lead in 23
rd minute and was able to hold on to the advantage heading into halftime despite a strong surge by the Pride front line of attack.
Following the break, Greensboro continued to push forward but was unable to find the back of the net despite out shooting the Falcons 6-3.
Kelsey Emrich took the loss in goal despite making three saves.
"We played a good Pfeiffer team and played them hard," Head Coach
Jordan May said. "We had some great offensive chances during the game, but were unlucky to not find the back of the net in the end. Additionally, we had some spectacular defensive work and a couple inspirational saves from Kelsey in net.
" I couldn't be prouder of the effort and heart this team showed today throughout the entire match. Now we look forward to taking the field on Saturday to celebrate our seniors."
The Pride women will return to action Saturday when they host the Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College. For more information on Greensboro College women's soccer, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
