GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's soccer team defeated the Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College Saturday 2-0 in their regular season finale.
Prior to the start of the game, the Pride recognized 11 players who took to the field for their final regular season contest.
Greensboro rode the emotions of senior day and struck for the game's first goal in the 11
th minute when
Devin D'Agostin found the back of the net off of an assist from
Logan Schnabl.
The Pride then took their one-goal lead into halftime before striking for the final goal of the afternoon in the 52
nd minute. This time it was
Angela Niles finding the back of the net. Over the remainder of the game, the Greensboro defense was able to hold strong and secure the shutout victory.
Greensboro held a 10-2 advantage in the shot category while
Kelsey Emrich was credited with the win.
"Today was all about our seniors and the team rallied around them to put together a solid performance to cap off the regular season," Head Coach
Jordan May said. "I am so happy for this group of girls as they have been instrumental in our success, not only this year but in years past. More importantly, they are tremendous people, leaders, and student-athletes.
"Thank you to everyone who has made today special for so many reasons. We are grateful for another opportunity to play again and look forward to conference tournament action next week."
