Football Falls At North Carolina Wesleyan

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Greensboro College football team fell to the Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College Saturday 44-7.
 
The Bishops took a 17-0 lead into the second quarter before extending their lead to 30-0 with 3:35 to play in the first half.
 
Following the Bishops defensive touchdown, Greensboro marched down the field on five plays to find the end zone. Facing a second-down and 12-to-go, David Loughry II connected with Saafir Craven for a 16-yard gain to give the Pride a first down on the Bishops 49-yardline.
 
Just three plays and a N.C. Wesleyan personal four penalty later, Loughry II rushed 19 yards into the end zone to make the score 30-6 before Zac Ellison added the point after attempt to make the score 30-7.
 
However, the Bishops would score one more time in the half before scoring the game's final touchdown in the third quarter.
 
Loughry II finished with 13 yards passing and 33 yards rushing to lead the Pride offense. Juwarren Byrd had a team-leading nine tackles, including one forced fumble, while Jeremiah Speed had eight tackles.
