DANVILLE, Va. – The Greensboro College women's soccer team improved to 2-0 in USA South Athletic Conference play with a dominant 4-1 victory over the Cougars of Averett University Tuesday.
Greensboro struck for the game's first goal in the 16
th minute when
Madison Karch found the back of the net off a blocked shot off the foot of
Anna Rae Porcelli.
The scored the stayed the same for the rest of the half before the Pride struck once again in the 49
th minute. This time it was
Devin D'Agostin scoring her first goal of the season off of an assist from
Angela Niles.
Greensboro then quickly tacked on another goal just over a minute later as
Keeley Catarineau scored on a header, following a
Taylor Harrison corner-kick, to make the score 3-0.
Following the Catarineau goal, Harrison beat the Cougars keeper in the 58
th minute to extend the Pride lead to 4-0 before the Cougars struck for the final goal of the day in the 85
th minute.
Greensboro finished the day with 56 shots to just two from the Cougars with 23 of them being on goal.
Kelsey Emrich was credited with the win for the Pride.
