LaGRANGE, Ga. – Freshman
Greyson Collins tallied a game and career-high 25 points as the Greensboro College men's basketball team fell to the Panthers of LaGrange College Saturday 122-90.
Greensboro came out of the gates fast as they opened up a 10-5 lead just three minutes into the contest before the Panthers went on a 8-1 lead to take a 13-12 lead.
During the opening run for the Pride,
Keyford Langley hit a pair of three-pointers while
Carmoni Marks and
Landon Murray tallied two points apiece.
Once LaGrange established the lead, the two teams traded baskets over the next four minutes before Greensboro regained a three-point lead at 18-15 after Langley connected from long range for a third time.
However, LaGrange would battle back once again and would lead by as many as 12 over the final 10 minutes of the half before going into the break with a 56-46 lead.
In the second half, Greensboro struggled to get anything going, as the Panthers were able to pull away for the victory.
"Tough game today," Head Coach
Bryan Galuski said. "We can't expect to win if we don't rebound or defend. It is as simple as that.
"We also need our locker room to rise to the challenge each and every day. Our time together is fragile and we are letting great opportunities slip away. Tomorrow we have another chance to show exactly how much Pride we all have."
Langley joined Collins in double figures with 16 and
Eric Peaks Jr. finished with 11.
The Pride men will return to action Sunday when they conclude their south road swing when they take on the Hawks of Huntingdon College.
