Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Mihindou Records Hat Trick As Greensboro Defeats Virginia Wesleyan

GREENSBORO, N.C.-- The Greensboro College men's soccer team defeated the Virginia Wesleyan College Marlins Sunday, 4-2.

Greensboro's Darli Mihindou put up back-to-back goals in under 12 minutes to open up the contest.

The Marlins answered back just minutes later with a goal and the Pride lead 2-1 going into the half.

Greensboro struck first once again as Gerardo Peraza recorded his first goal of the season.

Virginia Wesleyan did not go down without a fight and quickly scored to cut the lead to 3-2.

The Pride responded by pushing back into Marlins territory. Peraza found Mihindou minutes later to assist him in recording his hat trick.

Greensboro's defense finished the job and the Pride secured the 4-2 win.

"I want to congratulate the boys on bouncing back and getting a good win today," said Head Coach Tony Falvino. "I thought we played both games this weekend for both portions of each game. The boys are dealing well with the adversity we have faced so far.

We will continue to improve as a team. Our next challenge will be next Friday away at Randolph."

Mihindou ended the day with three goals, while Peraza scored one goal and two assists. Ryan Burgess received the win in the goal and recorded two saves.

Men's soccer will travel back to Virginia when they visit the Randolph College Wildcats at 7 p.m.
