Baseball Falls To Roanoke

SALEM, Va. – The Greensboro College baseball team fell to the nationally ranked Maroons of Roanoke College Tuesday, 15-6.

Roanoke jumped out to a 7-0 lead through four innings before Greensboro used a six-run fifth to pull within one run.

Greensboro scored their first run of the game when Brayden King walked across the plate after a pitch hit Tyler Price with the bases loaded.

Following the Price hit by pitch to keep the bases full, Lincoln Hewett hit a grand slam home run to make the score 7-5 before Dalton Tassinari came across to score the final run of the inning.

Despite pulling to within one, Greensboro was unable to get any closer as the Maroons scored the game's final eight runs to secure the victory.

Hunter Curtis finished with a team-high three hits, while Tassinari and King had two hits each. Will Hicks was credited with the loss.
