STAUNTON, Va. – The Greensboro College volleyball team defeated the Squirrels of Mary Baldwin University Tuesday 3-0.
Greensboro took the opening set of the evening by a 25-18 mark before jumping ahead 2-0 in the match with a 25-17 victory in Set 2.
In the third set, the two teams traded the lead back and forth but Greensboro was able to close out the match with a 26-24 victory.
Alycia Artis finished with a match-high 13 kills, while
Jasha Reed and
Ruth Matovu combined for 13 kills.
Katie Clark passed for a match-high 29 assists and
Tori Belcher compiled 25 digs.
"Our serving was pretty aggressive tonight and we did a great job of sticking to the game plan of keeping them out of their system," Head Coach
Kevin Troup said. "We still have a lot to improve upon but tonight was a good win."
