GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College volleyball team dropped a pair of USA South Athletic Conference matches Saturday.
The Pride dropped their opening match to the Angels of Meredith College, 3-0, before suffering a 3-1 setback against Pfeiffer University.
In their match against the Angels, Greensboro fell by scores of 25-12, 25-14 and 25-16.
Sarah Egbers paced the Greensboro attack with 10 kills and
Katie Clark passed for 15 assists.
Defensively,
Tori Belcher and Egbers combined for 27 digs, while
Hannah Ritter and
Ruth Matovu had one block each.
After falling to Meredith, Greensboro returned to action later in the afternoon after fell to the Falcons of Pfeiffer University by scores of 25-21, 26-24, 19-25 and 25-21.
Egbers once again led the way with nine kills, while
Alycia Artis also chipped in nine kills.
"I am proud of the fight that my team displayed today," Head Coach
Kevin Troup said. "We hustled for balls and made a conscious effort to play smarter."
