MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Greensboro College football team fell to the Hawks of Huntingdon College Saturday, 45-0.
The Hawks took a 38-0 lead into halftime before scoring the game's final points early in the third quarter.
Defensively, the Pride tallied three takeaways as
Michael Hayes and Keyondric Buchanon had one fumble recovery each, while
Jason Gerber tallied Greensboro's interception.
Jeremiah Speed had 13 tackles on the afternoon, while Ju'Warren Byrd,
Cornelius Bailey and Hayes had one sack each.
Chadwick Massenburg averaged 5.4 yards rushing per carry on the afternoon with 47 yards on eight carries.
"I am disappointed today as we didn't give our best on defense in the first half," Head Coach
Greg Crum said. "We played much better defense in the second half but our offense is still trying to figure out who we are with our two freshman quarterbacks.
"I still believe we have a talented young team and its back to work on Monday."
The Pride will return to action Saturday when they host the Scots of Maryville College for senior day at 1 p.m.
