WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's soccer team fell to the Spirits of Salem College Saturday, 3-0.
After playing the first 50 minutes to a scoreless draw, Salem struck for the game's first goal in the 51
st minute.
Salem then added goals in the 76
th and 81
st minutes to secure the three-goal victory.
"We knew Salem would come out and play very direct," Head Coach
Gus Mota said. "We had a strong first half and kept everything in front of us.
"In the second half we gave up some poor goals because of communication issues and little things we need to work on. On Monday we will make adjustments and we are looking forward to hosting John Wesley on Wednesday."
Salem held a 16-6 advantage in shots, while four of Greensboro's six shots were on goal.
Samantha Whipp,
Angela Niles, and
Alexis Chase each had shots on goal for Greensboro.
Brittany Morrison took the loss in goal for the Pride despite recording six saves.
