Volleyball Falls To William Peace, 3-0

RALEIGH, N.C. –The Greensboro College volleyball team fell to the Pacers of William Peace University Wednesday in a USA South Athletic Conference match-up, 3-0.
 
The Pride suffered a 25-23 setback in Set 1 before dropping Set 2 25-21.
 
After dropping the first two sets, the Pride used a 4-0 run to take their first lead in Set 3 at 12-10. Emily Horn and Danyale Berry each had one kill during the run.
 
Following the 4-0 run, William Peace surged in front of the Pride 18-13 before Greensboro once again regained the lead at 22-21 following a 5-0 run. Shayla Moss fueled the Greensboro run with two kills, while Horn tallied one kill and one service ace.
 
Despite taking the lead, the Pacers were able to bounce right back with a run of their own to regain the lead before closing out the match with a 26-24 victory.
 
"Today was a rough one for us," Head Coach Kathy Bullock said. "We went in with the right mindset and game plan tonight but we could not execute it."
 
Berry finished with a team-high 11 kills, while Tori Belcher added 16 digs.
 
The Pride will return to action Saturday when they travel to Mary Baldwin University for another USA South Athletic Conference Quad-Match. Greensboro will take on Methodist University at 12 p.m. before squaring off with the Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan at 2 p.m.
