LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team fell to the Wildcats of Randolph College Saturday, 17-6.
Randolph took an early one-goal lead before
Ryan Cole tied the game at one off an assist from
Davis Miller with 8:26 left in the first period.
After Randolph took a 3-1 lead,
Kyle Dahlin and Miller scored to even the score once again, while
Victor Mehrtens and
Andrew Klementz had one assist each.
Despite the two-goal run by Greensboro, Randolph took a 6-3 lead into halftime. Randolph extended their lead to four goals before Mehrtens tallied a goal of his own to pull the Pride to within 7-4.
Randolph then outscored Greensboro 10-2 over the final 21 minutes to take the 11-goal victory.
Daniel Wolf accounted for the Pride's two goals.
Chris DiBlasi had nine saves in goal for Greensboro, while
Tim Martin came in and tallied three saves.
Phillip Gerber won six face offs, while
Griffin Ballard tallied three face off wins of his own.
"Randolph executed really well today," Head Coach
Mike Foderaro said. "I give them a lot of credit for working hard for the win.
"We will get back to practice this week and work hard as we prepare for senior day Saturday."
