FERRUM, Va. – Brandon Soden hit a solo homerun in the top half of the 10th inning as the Greensboro College baseball team defeated the Panthers of Ferrum College Sunday, 11-7.

Andrew Ray gave Greensboro an early 1-0 lead with a sacrifice fly in the first inning before Ferrum came back to take a 5-1 lead into the sixth inning.

In the top half of the sixth, Derek Jaar came in to score to bring Greensboro to within three runs before Ray tallied another RBI in the seventh inning to make the score 5-3.

Greensboro was then able to use a four-run ninth inning to take their second lead of the game at 7-5 into the home half.

The Pride capitalized on a Ferrum error for the first run of the inning before Brayden King singled home Jaar to tie the game. Zach Neumeister then gave Greensboro the lead after coming around to score on another Panthers miscue.

Following King's single, Edward Milian added to the Greensboro advantage with a double to left field that scored King from second base.

Ferrum then came back to tie the game with a two-run bottom half of the ninth inning and force extra innings.

In the top half of the 10th inning, Soden hit a 2-1 pitch over the left field wall for his first career homerun and score the eventual game winner.

Greensboro then scored three more runs in the inning as Adam Murray hit a two RBI double to left field before King recorded his second RBI hit of the afternoon.

"After two tough losses Saturday I am very proud of the way this group of guys stayed together and continued to compete in the final game of the series," Head Coach Frank Maldonado said. "The comeback in the ninth was a full team effort and I could not be more proud."

Greensboro outhit the Panthers 20-9 in the victory. Milian had a team-high five hits, while King, Soden, Michael Faul, and Jacob Rodriguez had multiple hits each. Josh Evans pitched the first six innings but did not factor into the decision, while Willis Booth was credited with his fifth win of the season.
