GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team fell to Drew University Thursday, 14-7.
The Pride got on the board first with a man up goal by
Davis Miller before Drew responded with three straight goals to take a 3-1 lead into the second period.
The Rangers then added two more goals before
Victor Mehrtens an unassisted goal to send Greensboro into halftime trailing 5-2.
After Drew scored two goals early in the third period, Miller struck the back of the net for a second time to pull the Pride within four goals with 11:32 showing on the clock.
However, Drew tallied another goal just seconds later before Phillp Gerber and
Austin Bane was able to beat the Rangers keeper to make the score 8-5.
Drew then outscored the Pride 6-2 over the final 20 minutes to secure the seven-goal victory.
"I thought we showed moments of some good lacrosse." Head Coach
Mike Foderaro said, "However, at the end it didn't' go our way."
