Men's Lacrosse Falter Against Ferrum

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team was unable to keep their early lead Wednesday against Ferrum College and fell by an 11-5 score.

The Pride started off the game well taking the early 1-0 lead with 7:47 remaining in the first quarter.
Ryan Cole would collect a bounce pass from
Victor Mehrtens to score the opening goal.
Â
The second quarter would also start well for the Pride, as Mehrtens would extend the lead to 2-0 when he scored from a
Daniel Wolf assist, with 14:07 left.

Ferrum would then score four goals in a five minute span to take the 4-2 lead, with 8:21 remaining.

Wolf would get the Pride to within a goal with 1:43 remaining in the quarter when he collected a pass from
Tamarie Sterling.Â

However, the Panthers would score one more goal before the end of the half to go into the break with the 5-3 lead.

The Panthers controlled the third quarter as they scored five goals.
Â
In the fourth quarter Sterling would find Wolf one more time to make the score 10-4 with 11:11 to go.Â

Ferrum then responded with another goal, making the score 11-4.Â

Phillip Gerber would win the upcoming face-off and race down to score the game's final goal.
Â
Davis Miller led the Pride in shots with six, while Gerber led the team with six ground balls.Â
Chris DiBlasi was given the loss in the cage, making seven saves.

"Today Ferrum executed and we were unable to." said head coach
Mike Foderaro. "We will practice to get ready for a trip to Georgia on Saturday."
