DEMOREST, Ga. – The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team fell to Piedmont College Saturday, 7-6.
Victor Mehtrens gave Greensboro a 1-0 lead five minutes into the first period before the Lions scored the game's next four goals to take a three-goal lead early in the second period.
Phillip Gerber and Johnathan Avedesian found the back of the net with just less than five minutes left in the first half pull the Pride to within one goal but the Lions scored once again in the period to take a 5-3 halftime lead.
Greensboro then rallied back to tie the game 10 minutes into the third period after Mehtrens tallied his second goal of the afternoon before
Ryan Cole found the equalizer two minutes later.
The two teams then traded goals before Piedmont scored the deciding goal with 1:21 showing on the clock.
Chris DiBlasi took the loss in goal despite recording seven saves.
